Evylyn Rose LLC is a spiritual wellness business based out of Newark, DE. My primary service area is local to the northern Delaware areas, but I also offer online resources and on-demand courses for those outside of this geographic region.
My services are built on three pillars: Tarot, Spiritual Services, and Education. Through these pillars, my service roles include:
Tarot Reader
Pagan Officiant
Spiritual Coach (Empowerment Guide)
Esoteric and Spiritual Teacher
Spiritual Mentor
Building on my background in medicine, government, teaching, and psychology, I take my roles very seriously and hold myself to the highest possible standard of personal and business ethics, to include those listed in The ASI Honor Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Spiritual Leaders.
In most cases, email is the quickest, most efficient way to reach me. Completing and submitting any forms on this site or booking a consultation through my calendar will generate an email notice, so you won't have to take any additional steps.
My business card and booked service confirmations include my phone number for any urgent and emergent contact needs.
Exact pricing depends on the particular service. Please see the Services page for a quick overview of types of services offered by Evylyn Rose LLC. Standard pricing information is located on the individual service pages.
Excellent question. Although I don't have gift-cards set up at this time, I'm always open to coordinating for friends and family to gift my offerings to each other. Send me an email to get started.
I request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations to respect my time and that of other clients. Please see the Cancellation Policy page for more the most up-to-date details related to cancellations, rescheduling, and any related refunds and fees.
I am based out of Newark, Delaware. (Yes, "new-ark", not "newerk". 😉) However, with the mobile nature of my services, you may find me anywhere in New Castle County and the surrounding areas throughout the year. So if you're searching for a "tarot reader near me" in Newark, Wilmington, or throughout New Castle County, Delaware, I'm available for in-person sessions.
My Tarot focus is sacred in-person connection. However, I do consider providing my Tarot services online on a case-by-case basis. If you require virtual Tarot services, email me today to get started.
Typically, my Tarot services are only in-person. As mentioned above, there are some case-by-case bases for viritual Tarot services. (I'm especially open to partnering for fundraising and social causes.)
My spiritual and esoteric workshops and courses can be purchased on-demand with full-course or video-only format options. If you'd like to partner for a project on something similar, please reach out with your idea!
I'm also working to host regular Q&A/AMA livestream experiences in the near future.
Yes! I have been offering free resources for many years! (Over 25, to be more precise.) Some of my free resources include:
My newsletter, The Starlight Circle.
New subscribers automatically receive a free resource, such as the digital download "5 Ways to Use Tarot for Self-Reflection & Personal Growth".
My current blog with monthly posts related to Tarot, esoteric topics, and spiritual wellness.
And my most long-running free online resource, Messages in the Moonlight (MIM), a 100% free website with accurate, quality information related to Wicca, Witchcraft, and modern Pagan paths and relevant esoteric and metaphysical subjects.
Other free offerings are still in the works at this time, including free video resources, livestream Q&A/AMA sessions, and free on-demand workshops.
Absolutely. Many of the old platforms I used to use are no longer operational, long-abandoned, or I ditched years ago (e.g. the most popular social media sites). That said, you can currently find me on:
Bluesky @evylynrose.bsky.social (I'm most active on Bluesky)
Discord - evylynrose (Not as active on Discord as I used to be, but still lurk a bit)
Quora - Evylyn Rose (I mostly just answer questions.)
Nextdoor business page (I nearly never use my Nextdoor personal account)
You may see me or my writings elsewhere on the internet. If you're ever uncertain if it's really me, you can always email me at evylynrose@moonlightmessages.com to ask and find out!
No. You're thinking of other businesses with similar names. Web searches and AI models typically don't know the difference between "Evelyn" and "Evylyn" and other similarly spelled names. I've gone by "Evylyn Rose" online since 2001, self-published a novel under this same name in 2012, and only officially launched as a spiritual wellness business in 2025. It may take awhile longer before algorithms and training data catches up.
Evylyn Rose LLC is a veteran-owned spiritual wellness business based in Delware offering intuitive tarot readings and metaphysical education.
The Starlight Circle is the name of Evylyn Rose's email newsletter. "Starlight" is based on The Star card of the Tarot, which often symbolizes a sign of hope and motivation to keep moving forward. Stars--like our Sun--literally radiate light out into the universe. The Starlight Circle spreads the light contained within to subscribers' inboxes!
Yes. Yes, I did. Subscribers of the Starlight Circle are my "Moonbeams". As the Starlight Circle is based on the Tarot's Star card, "moonbeam" is inspired by the card that follows: The Moon. The Moon card typically represents our inner psyche, internal emotional landscape, dreams, and mystical journeys. If the Starlight Circle newsletter is meant to offer you hope and motivation, then you--as my Moonbeam--reflect that light out into the world just by being your awesome self.
I do my best to keep the Starlight Circle light. (See what I did there?) Email-based newsletters that I've written for in the past were long and loaded with words for days. Although I'm still proud of the high quality we offered in those emails, the reality is, I don't have time to read such long emails myself. Why would I do that to you?
To simplify the process for both of us, you can expect the Starlight Circle issues to be short enough to read and enjoy in 10 minutes or less.
Every issue contains at least:
Subscriber-only content and updates
At least one short, quick, & super easy exercise to improve your life
A super-brief overview and link to the most recent blog post
Upcoming Events section detailing the next scheduled setting you'll find me (and my cards)
When appropriate, the Starlight Circle will also include:
Subscriber-only specials
Reminders about current sales
Any other time-sensitive updates or notices
Currently, the newsletter is sent only once per month, typically during the second or third week of the month. You and I are way too busy to be sitting around and reading emails more often than that!
If anything changes to this frequency, you'll hear about it first as a Moonbeam (newsletter subscriber).
Nope! Signing up for the newsletter means only receiving the newsletter. You'll only hear from me once per month.
If you book/purchase services from me, then you will receive separate emails related to those services. There are no separate newsletter or promotional emails attached!
Do you need me to email you beyond the newsletter? Send an email to evylynrose@moonlightmessages.com with your question/concern.
I get that. Email newsletters are still the best and most accurate way to stay up-to-date on our favorite people, organizations, and businesses. Still, I can't even quantify the level of overwhelm I experience from newsletters in my inboxes! Plural!
So, if you're like me and trying to reduce the email anxiety, I'm happy to say that you can purchase a copy of "5 Ways to Use Tarot for Self-Reflection & Personal Growth" for $15 at the Lightweaver's Clearing.
But if you want the guide for free, you'll have to agree to receive The Starlight Circle at least once. 😄 And remember, you can always unsubscribe at any time!
No. Tarot and similar divinatory or "fortune-telling" practices don't predict the future. They merely hint at or reveal possibilities. Even if I feel that my intuition is picking up on a highly likely future event (e.g. a premonition), I don't claim to know it.
I once wrote a short blurb about Arachne's Web many years ago and still firmly believe that it's an accurate metaphor for the nature of reality and how we experience time. (Backed with quite a lot of scientific concepts and data since then.) Every word, action, choice you make from the moment of my reading to the future in question can alter that future. What would be the point in wasting either of our time laying it out if it's just going to change anyway?
Not explicitly. Despite decades of study and practice and a wide-range of knowledge and education in esoterics, metaphysics, psychology, and science, I still struggle with some personal biases in using the term as a self-descriptor. I talk about this in my blog post regarding "psychic" as a dirty word.
Based on the science-based definition through the APA Dictionary of Psychology, yes, I am 100% psychic. Meaning, I regularly and actively engage in and work with phenomena that is mind-based that also appears to defy scientific explanation.
No, I am not a medium. Although I may engage with spiritual entities and the like in my personal religious and spiritual practices, this is not how I approach my use of Tarot. During professional Tarot sessions with me, I am only communicating with you.
If what you are searching for is a trustworthy, authentic medium, then I have some recommendations of quality spiritual mediums in the Delaware area. Just ask me for a referral.
The best way to know if something is right for you is to try it yourself. A Tarot reading is right for anyone who is open to giving it a try. No specialized learning or training required!
My Tarot reading style is often instructional or educational at times. As I pull each card, I typically begin by explaining what the card means generally, historically, as well as in the context of the placement within your reading. People who have never had a Tarot reading or who have no idea what Tarot is about often appreciate this approach as it ensures you are well-informed and can decide for yourself after if Tarot is something you want to explore further.
Embodied Tarot is my signature approach that combines intuitive card reading with psychological insight and practical guidance to help you integrate wisdom into your daily life.
You may encounter the word "embodied" in other spiritual contexts, often relating to physical practices. In my practice, "embodied" specifically refers to the process of making intuitive insights tangible and actionable in your daily life, integrating them into your mental and emotional worldview.
Literally, I understand the word "embody" as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary: 2.b. "to make concrete and perceptible"; 3. "to cause to become a body or part of a body".
When I provide full (minimum 30 minutes) 1-on-1 readings in a private space, I don't just "read the cards" or tap psychic faculties to tell you whatever the cards have to say. I dig deeper. I blend my knowledge of psychology and my experience as an educator to help you uncover the deeper lessons and themes, often finding answers to the questions you didn't even know you were asking. This intuitive, reality-grounded approach allows me to weave the Tarot's messages with practical, personalized guidance to help you move forward.
Think of it like this: a standard reading might give you a treasure map. An Embodied Tarot reading teaches you how to read the map, plot your course, and begin the journey.
An Embodied Tarot Session means getting more than just answers to your questions. We work together to find the best action steps for you to integrate Tarot's wisdom mentally, emotionally, and spiritually so you can truly live.
Kind of? There are similarities. Like a life coach, I help clients gain clarity, set intentions, and move forward with purpose. However, my approach is grounded in Tarot and spiritual wellness rather than traditional coaching frameworks. My educational services, such as mentoring and some esoteric courses/workshops, are definitely more akin to life coaching in the specific areas of personal empowerment and spiritual practice. As such, you may see me use the term "empowerment guide" to describe this blend of intuitive and practical support designed with your empowerment in mind.
Yes. Always.
For full details related to any information you share with me or that comes up during a reading, please see my Privacy Policy.
Great question! Whether you're diving deep into an Embodied Tarot session or casually exploring a lighter Tarot reading session, having someone who can pick up on both the "seen and unseen" things can feel uneasy at best. You have to be willing to be at least a little vulnerable in some ways to allow any reader to peer into your life, and that can be unsettling for some of us.
Ethical Tarot readers will always begin the Tarot session going over expectations for you and them. They should be asking about your level of comfortable and asking permission before moving forward with anything too deep for you. Tarot readings are not the same as a session with your therapist and no reader should treat it that way!
As someone with a background in medicine and psychology, I take a trauma-informed approach to my Tarot readings. You have full autonomy over your boundaries. If anything comes up that leaves you feeling even more vulnerable, I will always make space and time for you to sit with what you need to and come back to your grounded center before "sending you on your way". Even in the case of time-based readings, although the reading itself may have a time limit, your emotional well-being and safety are not bound by time. I work hard to ensure you feel safe and supported during and after your reading.
Yes. It's those difficult times when we most need support and safe spaces to receive it in. Often, getting a reading during difficult times is exactly what we need to help us sort through the emotional and mental noise so we can find what our next steps are. My Embodied Tarot approach is geared exactly for finding the simplest and most practical steps that you can take that are safe, healthy, and wise.
Additionally, all of my services are trauma-informed. I blend my years of specialized training and experience across various service and health industries (medicine, psychology, teaching, etc.) to ensure that my time with you is grounded in ethics, safety, and well-being. If something urgent should come up that's beyond my scope, then I make sure that you aren't left alone and know exactly what your next steps are to have your needs met.
For Embodied Tarot Sessions, the most important thing I need for conducting readings is a safe, dedicated space for us. This is the space I'll set up a mobile sanctuary just for you and where the reading will take place. Although I'm flexible with what this space might look and feel like, I do suggest that it includes a table. (Yes, coffee tables count!)
For all Tarot readings, I ask that you be prepared with an open mind. There's no "right way" to receive a reading. My role is to meet you where you are and help translate the cards' insights in a way that makes sense for you.
Nope! I can provide the full Embodied Tarot experience without any specific question or concern at the ready.
If you don't have a question in mind at the start of your reading, I can always consult the cards for a general overview and we'll take it one step at a time from there.
Your session is a collaborative journey designed for clarity and comfort. Here’s how it typically unfolds:
Phase 1: Preparation & Foundation (Before the Clock Starts)
First, we’ll get settled in the sanctuary space I’ve set up. We’ll discuss your questions, intentions, and any concerns. If it’s your first reading with me (or ever), I’ll cover some foundational basics to ensure you’re completely comfortable. This is also the time for any optional ceremonial touches you’ve requested, like a brief smoke cleansing or grounding exercise. Your session time officially begins only after we complete these steps together.
Phase 2: The Reading (The Heart of the Session)
Choosing Your Deck: You’ll select the Tarot deck you feel most drawn to from my collection.
Setting the Focus: As I shuffle, we’ll clarify the themes or questions you’d like to explore, which helps me determine the most helpful card spread to use.
Adding Your Energy: You’ll be asked to cut or split the deck in whatever way feels right to you—there’s no wrong way.
Interpreting the Story: I’ll lay out the cards one by one. For each card, I’ll explain its role in the spread, its general meaning, and my intuitive interpretation within the context of your reading. I’ll share any intuitive impressions that arise and note key takeaways for you.
Phase 3: Integration & Next Steps
Synthesis & Recap: Once all cards are revealed, I’ll look at the complete picture to offer synthesis, additional insights, and a final recap. You are welcome to take a photo of your spread for your own records.
Clarification (If Time Allows): Should time permit, we can draw a few additional cards for clarification or explore another question.
My purpose is empowerment, not prediction. I don't believe in a fixed future, but in your power to shape it from the present moment. I explicitly don't contribute to fear-mongering.
If a potential challenge or "red flag" emerges in a one-on-one reading, we will unpack it together. My focus is on helping you to understand the underlying energy or pattern, brainstorm proactive steps to navigate or alter the situation, and leave with clarity and a plan.
Think of it this way: If the cards reveal stormy weather on the horizon, my job isn't to scare you with the forecast. It's to help you find shelter, pack an umbrella, or choose a different path altogether. In a private session, we work together to translate any warnings into clear, practical strategies.
Your safety and well-being are paramount. If a situation requires specialized support, I will help connect you with trusted local resources, such as those from my "Outside Scope" resource sheet for the Newark, DE area.
No. I am not a mind-reader. And I believe in personal privacy.
My approach is to focus on you—your energy, your perspective, and the dynamics that affect you. I can help you explore relationship patterns or situational influences, but this is about your insight, not surveillance of others. If information about another person arises intuitively, my ethical practice is to refrain from sharing it unless they are present.
You're totally right to ask this! The phrase "trauma-informed" gets thrown around a lot, as do other psychology terms (like "intersectionality" and "neurodiversity"). The common use of such terms and phrases as "buzz words" is problematic because it creates unclear and unrealistic expectations. As such, "trauma-informed" in tarot may mean something completely different to every tarot reader you ask depending on their background, experience, and formal training (or lack thereof).
For me, I draw on my years of education and experience in healthcare, psychology, and teaching when implementing trauma-informed practices into my services and offerings. Whether you're sitting down with me for a Tarot session or exploring one of my workshops, I design and perform all of my services with an emphasis on safety first, personal autonomy and choice, and creating a supportive space for you. I don't have to know your personal story and background to recognize that you may have endured trauma(s) in your life and understand the impacts those experiences may have had on you. When I hold space for you in a Tarot session, I'm automatically applying my knowledge and experiences in trauma-informed care and practices whether you've experienced trauma first-hand or not.
Although I never record a private live reading session, you're welcome to turn on your audio recording device/app for your personal records during your reading. All I ask is that you let me know during our pre-session steps so that I can confirm consent in the moment.
The relationship between Tarot and religion is personal and varies greatly. It's worth noting that Tarot is integrated into the spiritual practices of several faith traditions, including some forms of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and Paganism, often as a tool for meditation or inner wisdom.
In my practice, I use Tarot for focused reflection and personal empowerment—not for fortune-telling. Many clients from various backgrounds find this introspective approach complements their spiritual path. I encourage you to explore what aligns with your own beliefs.
Yes! My Tarot for Gatherings services is exactly that!
This varies based on the timeframe and setting of the event.
If the hope is for one-on-one readings for a group, then more time is needed for larger groups. For example, if you want a 1-hour event service with Tarot readings for all of your guests, but have 15 guests, then each person's reading would be limited to 4 minutes or less. However, 2.5 hour event service would allow all 15 guests a 10 minute session.
If the goal is for a more laid back and less private group session, then those same 15 guests may enjoy an hour, with each person having only one or two cards for their readings. This approach is often more light and casual; great for girls' nights and book clubs.
Yes. And for one-on-one Embodied Tarot Sessions, too!
My Tarot and live workshop services are mobile, meaning that I travel to where I am needed. I typically stay within New Castle County, Delaware. Some surrounding areas are possible depending on the specific route options and compatible EV charging infrastructure available to support my travel needs.
My Tarot for Gatherings service page typically outlines the most common types of events that work well for Tarot readings. Parties, spiritual clubs and organizations, yoga centers, metaphysical fairs, etc. are all common places to find or book my Tarot services.
For workshops, my spiritual education and mystical studies topics are generally best for groups and organizations with an interest in esoteric topics, metaphysics, witchcraft, etc. Metaphysical fairs, Pagan Pride events, local CUUPS chapters, and related meetup groups are typically the best for these. Although I am always open to providing my workshops to interested local businesses who want to try them out as a fun team-building opportunity!
As a US Army veteran who is oath-bound to supporting and protecting the United States Constitution, I also offer free civic workshops. These are generally geared toward applying my knowledge and background to support other organizations that aim to depolarize and reunite the US people to restore and protect our democratic Republic. Local civic and social justice groups and organizations are the best for these, although I can also tailor workshops for local community gatherings and public classroom presentations. I do not charge for creating and facilitating civic workshops.
No. That's a lot of pressure to put on a deck of cardstock and ink. Tarot cards can't actually do anything. Tarot cards are a tool through which people with psychic and intuitive gifts are able to obtain additional information. Any predictions made through using Tarot are those of the reader.
Personally, I don't use Tarot cards for predicting the future. To find out more, read my blog post, Tarot Isn't About Predicting the Future.
No. Again, Tarot cards are just cardstock and ink. That's it. Hollywood horror movies and stereotypes used for scare tactics aren't based in reality.
Yes! Through my Lightweaver's Clearing offerings, I provide both free and paid courses in Tarot fundamentals. These are designed for beginners who want to learn the cards as well as experienced readers looking to deepen their practice. I recommend starting with "Tarot 101 with Evylyn Rose". This mini-course is free and covers all the real, authentic, and science-supported answers related to the Tarot and why people use them today. It also includes lessons specifically on unlocking the meanings of the cards.
Additionally, my Tarot reading style typically involves me teaching you the meaning behind every Tarot card that comes up during your reading. (My Embodied Tarot Sessions allow me to do this more in-depth.) Unless you tell me otherwise, I will do this out of habit as a natural teacher and former classroom educator. So with me, you get both a magical, authentic Tarot reading session as well as a mini crash course in Tarot card meanings.
Some people like using the term "coach" as in "life coach" for professionals who provide services that are advisory or supportive in nature. Typically such services involve goal-setting, getting clarity on life direction and decisions, improving a particular are of life such as career or relationships, etc. A different term that's sometimes used is "guide" because our approach is less about coaching you in these matters as it is guiding you to being able to do it all on your own.
Initially, I had intended to do a fun play on "spiritual guide" given my services' spirituality-focused approach. Similar to the idea of "guardian angels", some paths have a concept of "spirit guides" or spiritual allies. Generally, spirit guides aren't incarnate, so I thought it would be funny to start calling myself a spirit guide while I was still alive. However, when I realized that all of my services come from a deep need and desire to see others lead truly empowered lives, the term "empowerment guide" was the most accurate. My mission in life is to guide you toward your personal empowerment.
A Word of Caution: While there are legitimate training and certification programs for coaches, most coaches and programs aren't equivalent to the level of specialized mental health treatment and support as you would find in social workers, pastoral counselors, therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Whether you're working with a life coach or spiritual guide, please be mindful that mental, emotional, and behavioral health treatment is outside their scope. They should always be prepared with a list of recommendations for specialized care and support for any and all psychological health needs. If they are not, then please search for a more responsible and educated coach or guide.
"Ask 10 Wiccans what a Wiccan is, and you'll get at least 11 different answers."
That old saying is probably more true today than when I first started learning about Wicca in 2000. The simplest, most accurate answer I can give today without risking offending anyone "in the know" is that Wicca is an established religion with a specific worldview/ethical system, concept of deity, and devout followers that also incorporates modern witchcraft. For more details, see my old blog post What Wicca Is: An Answer is a Sea of Voices and explore my old website about Wicca, Messages in the Moonlight.
Yes. The modern art of witchcraft can include ceremonial, spiritual, religious, and folk traditions. Although the older practices that today's witchcraft paths originate from aren't or weren't called "witchcraft" prior to the past century or so, that is the term that many modern practitioners use. (Click here to learn more about the modern use of the word "witch".)
I often see this question answered negatively elsewhere on the internet and sites like Quora. The people who say witchcraft isn't real or is made up aren't practitioners, aren't members of any related or adjacent communities, and don't study modern religious, spiritual, or folk tradition practices. People who lack any knowledge or awareness of such things aren't the ones to ask.
Yes. This isn't a secret. I've been open about my path through Wicca and modern Witchcraft for years. In fact, I have a whole website devoted to the topic of modern Witchcraft that I've been running since 2003. I generally identify my religious affiliation as a "Wiccan-flavored Witch", like I do on my About Page.
Both. I talk about the spelling of magic vs magick on MIM. In online spaces devoted to the topics of Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism, and magick, I prefer the older spelling "magick". However, on this website and some other non-witch specific online spaces, I will typically default to the more common and modern spelling of "magic" to avoid confusion and having to explain myself. However, you may see me add the "k" out of habit.
