I just can’t today.
How am I going to survive this?
The world is falling apart!
I don’t know if I can keep going.
There is so much going on in the world today. Democracies are being challenged, wars persist without clear purpose, and people are starved or killed for where they live. Entire communities are blamed for the actions of a few.
And if that’s bad enough, you’ve got your own personal struggles. Food and housing costs keep rising. Job security feels like a myth. Beloved family members won’t even talk to you anymore because of political differences. The kids are not alright—and let’s not even talk about modern dating!
You are not alone. I repeat: You are not alone. What we need right now is to tap into our resilience.
Resilience is our ability to recover from difficulties in our lives (Oxford Languages). When you're resilient, you're tough, strong and can endure anything life has to throw at you. You may still have hard days. You may struggle with depression, anxiety, or other emotional or physical challenges. But you also recover from them. Even if you have a history of dark periods or traumatic experiences, you survive to persevere and try again.
When facing major changes in our lives and the world, we need resilience. Even if we don’t know what the future will hold. Even when we have to push ourselves harder to take necessary action. Staying resilient ensures we can make it through. It’s our liferaft in turbulent seas.
I fell in love with Tarot because there are so many ways to use it. During periods of change and uncertainty, our first instinct is often to ask, “What happens next?” But because Tarot doesn’t predict a fixed future, it’s more powerful to use it as a tool for clarity and action in the present.
When it comes to tapping into and building resilience, you need to focus on the present circumstances and action steps you can reasonably take. Tarot can help you break down the complexity of current events in the world and our lives so we can better grasp all the moving pieces. The cards can help you find the most productive next step. Even a single card pull in the morning can become your focus for the day.
Try this spread when you need help motivating you to keep going and make it through no matter the challenge:
